Your driveway takes a beating that most people don't think twice about. Vehicle fluids drip onto it, rubber from tires grinds into it, and months of sun-baked grime work their way into every pore of the concrete or pavers. By the time it looks noticeably dirty, the buildup is usually well past surface level. That's where professional pressure washing makes a difference that a garden hose or a retail cleaner simply can't match.

At Hydro Pressure Washing, we've been cleaning driveways across Los Angeles, Long Beach, and throughout Orange County for years. We use professional-grade equipment calibrated to the surface, with enough pressure to pull out deep-set oil, rust stains, and biological growth without etching or damaging your concrete or pavers. Every job also runs through our water reclamation process, so we're not dumping contaminated runoff into storm drains. That matters to us and it matters to the communities we work in.

What We Remove

Driveways in Southern California deal with a specific set of problems that go beyond ordinary dirt. Motor oil and transmission fluid are the most common complaints. They soak in fast and oxidize over time, leaving dark stains that seem permanent until they meet the right equipment and chemistry. We also handle tire marks, rust from metal furniture or irrigation water, mold and algae that thrive in shaded areas, paint overspray, and the general film of exhaust, dust, and road grime that accumulates on any surface near LA traffic.

If your driveway has pavers, the joints are usually where things get ugliest. Weeds, sand erosion, and organic staining all concentrate there, and cleaning them out properly requires a different approach than you’d use on flat concrete.

Concrete and Paver Driveways

These two surface types need to be treated differently, and we adjust our process accordingly.

Concrete driveways are porous and can handle higher pressure, but too much pressure, or the wrong nozzle angle, creates surface scarring that’s permanent. We dial in the right settings for the age and condition of the slab and use pre-treatment detergents on problem areas before the rinse cycle starts.

Paver driveways are more delicate. The goal is to clean the surface and the joints without disturbing the sand base or loosening the pavers. After cleaning, we can also apply a penetrating sealer that protects the surface, brings out the color, and keeps weeds from re-establishing in the joints. If you’re already thinking about sealing, doing it right after a professional cleaning gives you the best possible foundation.

Why This Isn't a DIY Job

Rental pressure washers exist, and they can work fine for lighter jobs like rinsing a patio chair or washing down a fence. A driveway with years of oil staining and biological growth is a different problem. The machines available at hardware stores typically top out at pressure levels that won’t cut through hardened contamination, and without the right pre-treatment chemistry, you end up just moving dirty water around.

There’s also the water waste issue. A DIY job typically uses far more water to get mediocre results compared to a professional setup with proper equipment. For homeowners in LA and Long Beach who are mindful of water use, that matters.
